Measurement and evaluation of social resilience indicators in historical neighborhoods of Tabriz city (case example: Sorkhab neighborhood of Tabriz)

Abstract

Considering that natural disasters cause severe social disruptions in cities, promoting social resilience as a capability not only helps to maintain cities' initial performance, but also improves cities' prosperity after disaster recovery. It can be considering that the historical tissues of Tabriz are among the most vulnerable parts of the city, the influential factor in the return of such tissues to the society is their normal life. The purpose of this research is to identify the components of social resilience in the historical contexts of Tabriz city. The nature and method of the current research is based on the explanation of the solution method. In the analysis section, using SPSS software, one-way variance and sample t-test method are used in this research to find out the effects of gender, age and education on the next three functions, social and cultural. And finally, using the multivariate regression test, the most influential indicators are examined. The findings of the research show that the creation of an urban space suitable for the social strata, the color of belonging and hope for the future of the neighborhood are all the most influential indicators of social resilience and the increase of resilience in the face of Crisis requires social activities and people's awareness, therefore, if they increase social gatherings in the neighborhoods and create the place of occurrence, they will return to their original state very quickly during the crisis.
