Following the political events of Reza Shah such as settling strategy, the nomads lost their importance and marginalized. The present paper aims study the social and cultural transitions among the Turkman tribe to find out how settling strategy led to the emergence of a tribal town in the north of Iran. Town of Bandar Turkman was established about 80 years ago by the Pahlavi regime in the vicinity of national rail terminal of the country, which now ranks forth among the urban centers of Golestan province. The research method is based on the analytical models of BeaujeuGarnier, Wertheim test and Vernet by using Excel to illustrate the results. The study gained an analytical-evolutional approach due to its historical nature. The results revealed that the settling strategy has been influential on the socio-cultural structure of Turkman tribe which led to the economic and social development of the new town of BandarTurkman compared to the old urban places of the region. Also it is obvious that the women society gained more as they became more literate and now are participating in the different social activities which had less opportunity in their old life style.
