Problem: Rural development is a comprehensive process, continuous, balanced, endogenous, empowering, inclusive, transformation, believer-driven, growth-based and participatory and self-reliant process for villagers. In this framework, the cultural, social and economic capabilities of societies based on meeting the basic material and spiritual needs, and effective control over the forces shaping the local housing system and the development of human capital, exploiting the opportunities of the inner village in the countryside.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to explain the tourism capacity for rural development in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province.
Methodology: The statistical population of the study is expert experts in cultural heritage and tourism and other expert experts in tourism in the province and caretakers of tourism units in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. The sampling method is a whole series and data are collected using a researcher-made questionnaire this year. The data analysis uses the Delphi and SWOT methods and has been used to rank the villages using the Topsis technique.
Findings: The results of this study indicate that the most important tourism capacities in the studied villages are natural areas of fresh air, weather, and especially the attractiveness of nomadic indigenous people. The most important weaknesses of the tourism industry are the lack of planning, the lack of accommodation facilities and the lack of tourism culture. In the meantime, the villages headed by Sheikh Ali Khan, Dimeh, Avergan and Atashgah are more capable, and need to be included in priority tourism programs.
Innovation: Methods and techniques of explaining the tourism capacities of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province are the origin of this research and also tourism capacity of the studied population has not been studied at this level.
